Job Description

Overall Objectives of Role
This is a program leadership role — not a coordination or status-reporting function. We are looking for someone who can hold accountability across multiple complex, concurrent programs and drive them to meaningful outcomes. The candidate must bring both strategic perspective and ground-level credibility: able to set direction, resolve cross-program dependencies, and engage substantively with technical teams, architecture decisions, and business stakeholders.

The ideal candidate operates at the intersection of delivery rigour and stakeholder influence. They do not need to be told what to escalate — they recognise it before it becomes a crisis. They earn trust across organisational levels not through authority, but through consistently sound judgment and follow-through. This role is central to Allianz Technology's ability to deliver transformation at scale and pace.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Program Portfolio Ownership: Lead and govern a portfolio of complex, interdependent projects simultaneously — maintaining visibility across all workstreams, proactively managing conflicts in priorities, resources, and timelines.
• End-to-End Delivery Accountability: Own program outcomes from initiation through closure, ensuring scope, schedule, budget, risk, and quality objectives are met across multiple concurrent initiatives.
• Dependency & Risk Management: Identify, track, and resolve cross-program dependencies and risks before they escalate into blockers. Develop mitigation strategies that hold up under scrutiny.
• Stakeholder Alignment: Build and maintain alignment across senior leadership, product owners, engineering leads, vendors, and Operating Entity stakeholders — without reliance on formal authority.
• Technical Engagement: Engage meaningfully with architects and senior engineers on integration tradeoffs, delivery sequencing, and feasibility. Challenge assumptions where warranted; support sound technical decisions through the delivery lifecycle.
• Governance & Reporting: Establish and maintain program governance frameworks, cadences, and reporting that provide leadership with clear, accurate, and decision-ready insights — not noise.
• Resource & Vendor Coordination: Coordinate resources across internal teams, external vendors, and third parties; manage vendor delivery accountability where applicable.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify systemic delivery challenges and drive improvements to ways of working, tooling, and process across the program landscape.
Qualification, Experience, Technical and Functional Skills
Must Have:
• 10+ years of experience in program or senior project management, with a demonstrable track record of delivering multiple large, complex, cross-functional programs in parallel.
• Proven multi-program management capability: You have managed interdependent programs with overlapping timelines, shared resources, and competing stakeholder priorities — and delivered results.
• Technical credibility: You have come up through or alongside technical delivery — engineering, architecture, or systems integration — and can engage with technical detail without hand-holding. You do not need to write code, but you must be able to follow architectural reasoning, spot delivery risks in a design, and challenge estimates that do not add up.
• Structured thinking under ambiguity: You can take large, poorly defined problems, decompose them into executable tracks, and move them forward before everything is known.
• Cross-organisational influence: You build trust and drive decisions across hierarchies and entity boundaries without relying on positional authority.
• Delivery rigour: Strong command of program governance, risk frameworks, dependency management, and programme reporting. Formal methodology (PMP, PRINCE2, SAFe, MSP) is a plus but secondary to demonstrated delivery outcomes.
• Fluent English (primary working language); proficiency in additional European languages is advantageous.

Good to Have:
• Experience in financial services, insurance, or a regulated European environment (DORA, GDPR, EU AI Act familiarity is an advantage).
• Background in technology transformation, platform modernisation, or large-scale enterprise integration programs.
• Experience with AI, cloud migration, or contact-centre platform rollouts.
• Vendor and partner management experience in a multi-vendor delivery environment.
• Exposure to Agile at scale (SAFe, LeSS) and hybrid delivery models.
Key Competencies
• Multi-program delivery ownership — managing concurrent complexity at scale
• Technical judgment sufficient to challenge and support engineering decisions
• Cross-organisational influence and stakeholder management without formal authority
• Structured problem decomposition and prioritisation under ambiguity
• Risk and dependency foresight — seeing problems before they surface
• Governance design and transparent, decision-ready reporting
• Vendor and third-party accountability management
• Continuous improvement mindset applied to delivery systems
