Applications are being accepted for the following position:
Drama Director - Middle School
Start Date: 2026-2027 School Year
Posting Period: May 22, 2026 - until filled
Salary: Based on years of experience as outlined in the CLEA Agreement
Responsibilities/Qualifications:
- Produce a winter play
- Meet with staff and administrators for planning/scheduling
- Review and choose age-appropriate plays, with administrative approval
- Schedule rehearsal time
- Submit schedules
- Communicate times for auditions, practices, etc.
- Review and maintain rules for rehearsals/building time as needed
- Audition actors & provide cast list to the office to verify enrollment & other school policies
- Communicate the rules of participation
- Plan with the crew (stage manager) the items in storage and those to be purchased for props/sets
- Purchase needed items (ordered by the front office or reimbursed) or borrow items (return after the show) within the appropriate budget
- Supervise and direct cast and crew during rehearsals
- Assist and train crew with lights and sound
- Recruit extra help for shows as needed
- Collect and submit funds taken in from shows and fundraisers
Organize timely clean-up post-show (take down sets, etc.)
