Job Overview:

The Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM) is seeking a Junior Salesforce Developer to join our Application Development Team. In this role, you will help maintain, enhance, and support our Salesforce platform and related business applications. You will work closely with senior developers and program staff to ensure ODM’s systems remain reliable, efficient, and aligned with evolving business needs. As a Junior Salesforce Developer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Configuring user access, roles, profiles, and permissions to ensure secure and appropriate system access.
  • Monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and recommending improvements to optimize functionality.
  • Supporting various phases of testing, including system, integration, and user acceptance testing.
  • Performing data management activities (e.g. migration, cleansing).
  • Developing customized reports and dashboards to meet business needs.
  • Participating in release management processes to ensure high quality deployments.
  • Staying current on Salesforce releases, new features, and best practices to continually enhance ODM’s Salesforce environment.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Basic understanding of Salesforce configuration (e.g. objects, fields, validation rules, flows).
  • Interest in growing developer skills, including Apex, Lightning components, and SDLC processes.

48 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: designing and performing systems analysis, developing and/or modifying programs for computer applications recommending application solutions and/or testing and correcting programs as it relates to testing and implementation and assisting with documentation including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology as specified by the agency position description & job posting. 

-Or completion of associate core program in computer science or information systems; 30 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: designing and performing systems analysis, developing and/or modifying programs for computer applications recommending application solutions and/or testing and correcting programs as it relates to testing and implementation and assisting with documentation including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology as specified by the agency position description & job posting. 

-Or completion of undergraduate core program in computer science or information systems; 24 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: designing and performing systems analysis, developing and/or modifying programs for computer applications recommending application solutions and/or testing and correcting programs as it relates to testing and implementation and assisting with documentation including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology as specified by the agency position description & job posting. 

-Or equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above. The Ohio Department of Medicaid does not provide employment-based visa sponsorship.

On call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Required to carry a cellular phone as assigned. Required to work occasional overtime as assigned.

Travel required, as needed. Must provide own transportation. Or, in order to operate a state vehicle, you must have a valid driver's license from state of residence.
