Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Functional Requirements:
• Gate productivity
• Truck Turnaround Time (<60mins)
• In / Out & North Gate management
• Resource management
• Efficient planning
• Nil incident / Nil injury/ Nil fatality
• Report near misses.
• Nil stoppage in operations.
• Checkers, Securities, and Surveyors hot seat exchange.
• Pedestrian-free Gate.
• Monitoring the performance of the contract workforce.
• Safety and environmental issues.
• Controlling and Monitoring the Out Gate, Ingate and North gate Checkers, surveyor, and Security.
• Monitoring and controlling traffic flow.
• Ensuring Contract Checkers at Gates perform the job diligently.
• Ensuring the closing of transactions on receipt of EIR
• Monitoring Trucks entering the terminal have adequate twist locks.
• Imports truck turnaround time from delivery to Gate out.
• Exports truck nil waiting at gates for EIR generation.
• Follow up on ICD Export, ITT priority, ICD Import delivery on time, and wagon movements.
• Follow up ITT movement to connect on time.
• Ensure special container (ODC, IMO, and Reefer) details are properly updated in the system.
• Assist in case of exceptions like reports, slow systems, or lack of support.
• Liaise continuously with the Yard Supervisor and monitor the incoming and outgoing truck movements.
• Liaise with the documentation center for smooth functioning of gate operation.
• Ensure liaise with gate surveyors for damage reports and ensure some are updated in the system.
• Liaise with Customers & stakeholders for issues related to gate with gate movement/documentation.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement process and the meeting of business objectives.
• Bettering and Un-berthing Timelines set up are achieved.

QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES
Skills and Competencies
• 2 years of relevant experience in Terminal Operations
• Computer literacy/keyboard skills in planning systems (i.e. Zodiac, Cargo’s systems).
• Good Communication Skills in Local Language and English
• Working knowledge of Terminal control procedures.
• Knowledge of relevant Health, Safety and Environmental Policies and Procedures
Stakeholder
Internal: Duty Superintendent, Tower Controllers, Vessel Planners, Yard Planners, Yard Supervisors & Documentation Supervisors
External: ETV drivers, Transporters, Chennai Port Authority, CITPL, Customs, CFS representatives, CHAs etc.,
Education and Experience:
• Educational Qualification (min) - Bachelor's degree / Diploma with Computer skills
• Preferred Certifications if any - NIL
• Range/minimum no of years - of overall Experience required - 2 years of relevant experience in Terminal Operations
• Min no of years of Industry specific experience required, if any & the industry type - 2 - 4 years of relevant experience in Terminal Operations
