Job Description
Job Purpose
Drives systems initiatives by acting as a technical resource, partnering with the Talent Manager and HR Analyst to manage projects, document and improve processes, translates business needs into system solutions, documents and improves processes, and supports a strategic, continuous improvement approach to system enhancements.
Note: This role reports into HR but is primarily a technical resource and does not require prior HR experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
Project Management:
Lead assigned systems projects and programs from planning through to implementation
Establish and manage project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource coordination to ensure successful delivery
Using JIRA, track and report on project performance, ensuring progress across multiple initiatives
Work with the Talent Manager Define and monitor success metrics for HR systems initiatives
Translate direction from the Talent Manager into clear priorities, plans, and timelines
Systems and Process Optimization:
Serve as a subject matter expert in HR systems and reporting (e.g., Dayforce, Power BI), providing guidance and ensuring effective, consistent use of tools
Advise on approach for HR systems initiatives by calling out inefficient or overly complex solutions and recommending simpler, cleaner ways to do it
Partner with the HR Analyst to support HR systems initiatives and act as a technical resource
Define system and workflow solutions by translating business program and process needs into functional requirements
Ensure process and system logic is documented, consistent, and sustainable
Identify opportunities to streamline programs, processes, and tools
Promote consistent standards, governance, and ways of working across HR systems and initiatives
Data Analysis:
Develop and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards for data visualization
Develop and implement data models using the Microsoft data stack (Azure, MS-SQL, Fabric, Power Automate, etc.)
Utilize APIs and ETL tools to facilitate data integration and acquisition across different systems and platforms
Personal Development
Attend company required training
Remain current with technical knowledge in areas of responsibility
Attend regular 1:1 coaching/update sessions
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Analytics, or Information Technology (preferred)
2-3 years minimum working in a similar role
Certification in Microsoft Fabric or equivalent preferred
Strong knowledge of data modeling techniques and best practices
Proficiency in SQL and other database management tools
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Familiarity with data visualization tools, particularly Power BI
Experience with API usage for data integration and acquisition
Familiarity with agile methodologies and project management using JIRA
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities and challenges can change quickly
Listens to understand, communicates clearly, and provides honest, thoughtful input in a respectful way
Able to work through problems effectively using experimentation, creative thinking, and a willingness to learn from mistakes
