The Accountant role is integral to supporting the functions of the FICO department. This position will be actively involved in month-end and year-end closing processes and will be responsible for performing balance sheet account reconciliations. The Accountant is expected to manage routine accounting duties with minimal supervision while maintaining accuracy and efficiency. Additionally, the role requires a proactive and analytical mindset, with the ability to question, investigate, and develop problem-solving skills to address accounting issues effectively.           

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare and post journal entries with completeness and accuracy to record financial transactions
  • Perform month-end and year-end closing activities
  • Maintain Balance Sheet Account Reconciliations and supporting schedules with documentation with detail and accuracy
  • Analyze account and expense activity to investigate transactions, identify variances and/or discrepancies
  • Support inventory-related costing adjustments
  • Understand internal control system and actively monitor to ensure integrity of data
  • Participate in external audit process including providing supporting schedules, gathering information and responses

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelors Degree in Accounting

Experience and/or Training: Three to five plus years of Accounting Experience

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience and/or Training: CMA or CPA interest or candidacy

 

SKILLS:

Professional Skills: 

  • General Accounting skills, including an understanding of US GAAP (IFRS a plus)
  • Advanced use of Microsoft Excel
  • Basic use of other Microsoft products (Word, PowerPoint and Outlook. PowerBI a plus)

Soft Skills: 

  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team or individual environment
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Organizational skills with attention to detail
