
Engineering Manager - CDI (F/M)
Job Description
Your mission
We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the Payments Tribe, a critical part of our platform powering the payment experience across channels. You will report to the Head of Engineering, and manage 9 engineers across 2 squads (Core, Pay).
You will play a key role in enhancing our platform and raising the bar for the service provided to our customers, working across payment APIs, processing, reconciliation, and core banking systems.
This role combines people management, technical leadership, and stakeholder coordination for a Tribe that is central to both current and future projects for Lemonway. You will drive the delivery of our next-generation card payment stack for acquiring and issuing, as well as our cash management platform.
Your responsibilities
People management
Create the conditions for the squads to operate effectively and deliver consistently
Hire, develop and retain high-performing engineers in partnership with HR
Foster a culture of continuous improvement in development practices, processes and knowledge sharing
Technical leadership
Lead the squads’ delivery across short- and long-term initiatives by setting clear goals, and execution paths in ambiguous contexts
Own the scope end-to-end ensuring solutions deliver meaningful value to customers and the business
Guide technical decisions to ensure high standards of reliability, quality, and security across systems
Drive cross-team initiatives to continuously raise the bar of our engineering standards
Stakeholder coordination
Partner with Product to define and drive a clear, realistic roadmap with strong alignment on delivery and quality
Frame and communicate trade-offs between feature delivery, reliability, support, and technical debt
Act as the main point of contact for stakeholders across engineering, product, and business teams
Own the technical relationship with our third-party providers including integrations, performance, and escalations
