Brooklyn Public Library’s Adult Learning Program is seeking a Part-Time Intake Coordinator for a grant-funded position within the Adult Learning Education (WIOA) program. This role provides essential administrative and operational support to ensure the successful implementation of program services.
The Intake Coordinator will manage a variety of day-to-day administrative and participant-facing responsibilities, including data entry, maintaining student records, filing, leading student intakes, recruitment efforts, enrollment sessions, and orientations. This individual will also provide phone and email support, work closely with key program staff, and assist participants with GED applications and related processes.
This is a part time grant-funded opportunity through June 30, 2026. The salary for this position is $25 per hour for up to a 19-hour workweek.
Responsibilities
Support all aspects of program intake for WIOA-funded classes
Enter and maintain accurate data in electronic databases and student records systems
Organize and maintain student files and intake documentation
Triage and respond to telephone calls and email inquiries from prospective participants
Facilitate recruitment, enrollment sessions, and student orientations
Assist participants with GED applications and related support services
Communicate and collaborate frequently with program staff and participants
Perform related duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum of a High School Diploma or High School Equivalency (HSE) required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
Knowledge of grant-funded programs and experience supporting successful program implementation
Strong computer skills and proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, internet, and database software
Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
Excellent customer service, written and verbal communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment
Willingness to attend professional development trainings on-site and off-site
Must be able to travel between program sites as needed
Flexible availability, including evenings and Saturdays, as required
Demonstrated initiative and commitment to maintaining high professional standards
