Role Overview
The Assistant Manager, Quality Control is responsible for overseeing quality assurance processes for electric vehicle powertrain components, including inverters and Internal Charging Control Units (ICCU). This role combines leadership in quality management with hands-on electrical troubleshooting and testing expertise.
The ideal candidate will bring experience in automotive manufacturing, strong knowledge of quality systems, and technical expertise in electrical components. This position plays a critical role in ensuring products meet customer expectations, regulatory standards, and continuous improvement objectives in a fast-paced production environment

Quality Management & Leadership
- Oversee quality management for assigned processes, including developing and maintaining quality systems, procedures, and compliance with standards (IATF 16949).
- Lead root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and enhance product performance.
- Analyze quality data and reporting (daily/weekly/monthly), while coordinating with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to resolve issues and ensure alignment.
Electrical Testing & Technical Support
- Inspect, test, and troubleshoot EV powertrain components (inverters, ICCUs) at component, system, and vehicle levels.
- Perform diagnostics and root cause analysis on electrical failures, supporting durability, reliability, and performance investigations.
- Support implementation of inspection plans (FTTQ, in-process, final) and apply electrical fundamentals in troubleshooting and validation activities
Continuous Improvement & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with production, engineering, and cross-functional teams to resolve quality and technical issues.
- Develop and implement process improvements, testing methodologies, and quality tools to enhance efficiency and product quality.
- Maintain quality documentation and support a culture of continuous improvement, including adherence to 5S and operational excellence standards.
AUTHORITY & SCOPE
This role operates within defined corporate policies and procedures and exercises judgment appropriate to its level of responsibility. The position may influence decisions related to functional operations, processes, or recommendations and escalate matters as required

Qualifications (The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required and preferred for this position.)
Required Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED
- 5+ years of experience in quality control within a manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience with electrical components and systems troubleshooting
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Understanding of quality systems, methodologies, and tools (8D, RCA, FMEA, etc.).
- Solid foundation in electrical principles (voltage, current, resistance).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- Experience in automotive EV powertrain systems (inverters, ICCU, battery systems).
- 5+ years of experience in electrical component testing and troubleshooting.
- Previous supervisory or assistant management experience in a quality environment.
- Experience with quality audits, supplier quality, and customer interfacing.
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification preferred.
Working Conditions:
- Office setting, some walking within and between buildings
- Overtime as needed
