Technical Publications Specialist
Job Description
Fleetway’s Technical Publications team is helping shape the next generation of Royal Canadian Navy ships by developing high-quality, modern technical documentation that supports complex naval systems. We foster a collaborative environment that leverages advanced tools and technology to produce accurate, user-focused publications.
As a Technical Publications Specialist, you will play a key role in the development of S1000D-compliant technical manuals in Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) format. Working closely with subject matter experts and cross-functional teams, you will contribute to the creation of Canadian Forces Technical Orders (CFTOs) and other maintenance and support documentation. This includes reviewing Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) manuals and technical specifications and translating complex information into clear, consistent, and usable content.
In this role, you will apply your knowledge of technical publication best practices, S1000D standards, and common source database (CSDB) environments to support the full publications lifecycle. You will help ensure data integrity across integrated systems, including the Integrated Data Environment (IDE) and Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) databases, while adhering to established quality and compliance standards.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is detail-oriented, collaborative, and passionate about producing high-quality technical content, with room to grow and contribute to a nationally significant program.
