Job Description

Position Summary

The Person In Charge (P.I.C.) is responsible for overall store operations in the absence of the Store Director or other primary leadership. This role ensures a safe, efficient, and customer-focused environment while overseeing team performance, compliance, and store execution standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Store Leadership
    • Act as the acting manager on duty, ensuring smooth store operations
    • Provide direction and support to all departments
    • Make real-time decisions to address operational needs and customer concerns
  • Customer Service Excellence
    • Ensure a high level of customer service throughout the store
    • Resolve customer issues quickly and professionally
    • Promote a friendly, clean, and welcoming shopping environment
  • Operations & Execution
    • Monitor store conditions including cleanliness, stocking, and merchandising
    • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards
    • Oversee opening and closing procedures, including cash handling and security
  • Team Support & Supervision
    • Delegate tasks and manage workflow across departments
    • Provide coaching and immediate feedback to associates
    • Ensure proper staffing levels and break/lunch compliance
  • Safety & Compliance
    • Enforce food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards
    • Respond to emergencies, incidents, or alarms as required
    • Ensure adherence to all regulatory and company guidelines
Qualifications
  • Previous retail or grocery experience preferred
  • Leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
