The Services Instrumentation and Controls C10 / C35.6 Instrumentation and Controls hardware engineer is responsible for designing and manufacturing of Printed Circuit Boards (PCB) equipment that control safety critical functions for the BWRX-300 Small Module Reactor. This role will be highly integrated with our vendors and will be focused on quickly ramping up suppliers to meet production schedule for new product line of PCB hardware. Roles and Responsibilities
- Demonstrate accountability for cost, schedule, quality, and technical accuracy of assigned tasks.
- Work with vendors to ensure designs can be manufactured to required quality standards.
- Technical collaboration between design engineering and vendors when manufacturing issues arise.
- Work with the technical leader to establish an effective work plan, including time estimates, schedule estimates, requirements and work processes.
- Apply engineering fundamentals and 1st order engineering principles to establish and/or confirm expected performance.
- Provide clear and complete analysis documentation in accordance with GE engineering procedures.
- Manage time effectively to provide quality deliverables within the expected project timeline. Communicate effectively to leadership the status of work activities.
- Effectively manage multiple priorities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering from an accredited university or college.
- 6 years of PCB design experience.
- 2 years of experience in PCB board production methods and best practices.
Eligibility Requirements
- For US - This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.

- For Canada - This position will report onsite to the Markham office 3 days a week.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in nuclear analog and digital instrumentation, control, monitoring, and electric power system and field engineering.
- Competency in industry standards. IEEE, IEC, IPC, and quality.
- Competency in modeling and test data collection tools.
- Clear thinker, detail oriented, insightful, quantitative, balanced and a results-oriented analyst and leader.
- Proven track record of delivering commitments on budget and schedule with high quality results.
- Strong verbal communication, as well as, facilitation and presentation skills for technical and business audiences – Able to communicate openly, calmly, and crisply in stressful situations.
- Adaptive; able to quickly learn diverse and varying organizational interfaces with professional astuteness.
- Continuous improvement mindset with an ability to identify, influence, and implement better ways to do an activity or process.
- Solid technical writing skills with focus on requirements and design documents.
- Knowledge and experience with PCB design, signal analysis and system verification tools (Altium, PSpice, SystemVerilog,UVM, etc.).
- Knowledge and experience with common HDL languages (Verilog, SystemVerilog) and PLD/FPGA development tools (Quartus, Vivado, ModelSim,Questa, etc.).
- Extensive knowledge in PCB manufacturing methods and best practices.

For candidates applying to a Canadian-based position, the pay range for this position is between $110K and $160K CAD. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $98,400.00 and $164,000.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
