Job Description
This position supports the Bureau of Emergency Medical Services & Trauma System (BEMSTS) in efforts to reduce mortality and morbidity from time-sensitive medical emergencies in Arizona. These include, but are not limited to, cardiac arrest, myocardial infarction, acute stroke, traumatic brain injury, opioid-related emergencies, and severe hemorrhage. The role is responsible for implementing systems of care and sharing information with stakeholders and the public. This involves direct engagement with community members, law enforcement, emergency medical dispatchers, EMS agencies and hospitals, physicians, and university partners. The position will also manage grant programs such as the Rural Health Transformation grant and the First Responders Comprehensive Addiction and Recovery Act grant. It requires proper handling of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and Protected Health Information (PHI). Some in-state is required, and the incumbent must be willing and able to operate a state vehicle for official duties.
