WHAT YOU´LL DO:
- Discover and Onboard New Suppliers: Scout for cutting-edge technologies and add them to our supplier panel for emerging growth verticals.
- Build a Global Supplier Network: Develop a robust supplier panel to meet worldwide and regional operational needs.
- Lead Supplier Integration: Oversee the entire integration process, from prospection and assessments to development, aligning with our sub-commodity strategy.
- Achieve Annual Goals: Meet the objectives of our Annual Operating Plan for sub-commodities.
- Drive Productivity: Create and consolidate action plans to boost productivity within the sub-commodity.
- Strategize and Manage: Handle sub-commodity strategy activities within your assigned scope.
- Negotiate Annually: Conduct yearly negotiations with designated suppliers to secure the best deals.
- Address Future Needs: Ensure that the current and future needs of platforms and customer teams are met through our sub-commodity strategy.
- Support Product Launches: Collaborate with the New Product Introduction team to support new product launches.
- Innovate Globally: Generate and consolidate ideas for global projects, gathering insights from suppliers.
- Enhance Supplier Performance: Lead quarterly business and performance reviews, fostering continuous improvement in supplier performance.
PREFERRED CANDIDATE PROFILE:
Experience: experience as a Commodity Buyer
Education: Bachelor’s Engineering degree
Language: Good Proficiency in English
Skillset: Negotiation Skills, Good Proficiency in MS Excel & PowerPoint, Project Management
HPDC Expertize
1. Aluminium HPDC Process Expertise
- In-depth understanding of high-pressure die casting for large structural components.
- Familiarity with machine tonnage requirements and cycle time optimization.
- Knowledge of advanced HPDC techniques (vacuum casting, thermal management, porosity control).
2. Aluminium Alloy & Metallurgy Knowledge
- Expertise in automotive-grade alloys.
- Understanding of heat treatment (T6/T7) and its impact on strength and durability.
- Ability to assess alloy sourcing and compliance with OEM specifications.
3. Cost Drivers & Value Analysis
Strong grasp of HPDC cost structure:
- Raw material cost (aluminium ingots, scrap recovery).
- Tooling cost (die life, complexity, maintenance).
- Energy consumption (melting, casting).
- Labor & automation (robotics, trimming, machining).
- Logistics & scrap recycling.
- Capability to perform cost breakdown and negotiate competitive pricing.
4. Supplier Scouting & Development
- Experience in identifying and qualifying HPDC suppliers in Eastern Europe (Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia).
- Ability to evaluate supplier capacity, technology level, and financial stability.
- Skilled in building long-term strategic sourcing partnerships.
