Description
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Support or develop and execute the strategic vision for advanced manufacturing engineering initiatives in alignment with company objectives.
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of engineers and technical professionals to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
- Technology Assessment and Implementation: Evaluate emerging manufacturing technologies, processes, and equipment to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
- Process Optimization: Drive continuous improvement efforts to optimize manufacturing processes, workflows, and systems for increased efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, production, quality assurance, and supply chain, to integrate advanced manufacturing solutions seamlessly into the overall operational framework.
- Resource Allocation: Manage departmental resources effectively, including budgeting, staffing, and capital investment, to support strategic objectives and project timelines.
- Compliance and Standards: Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to advanced manufacturing engineering processes and technologies.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges associated with advanced manufacturing initiatives and develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions and ensure business continuity.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor the performance and effectiveness of advanced manufacturing processes and initiatives. Provide regular reports and updates to senior management stakeholders.
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution required or equivalent experience; Master’s Degree preferred
- Minimum of 5-7 years technical experience, preferably in the orthopedic, medical device or related field.
- A minimum of 1-5 years’ experience managing engineers or other technical personnel is required.
- Project management experience with demonstrated ability to align multi-functional teams is required.
- Experience with developing manufacturing processes and process improvement is required.
