Job Description

- Support and assist the Head of Legal of the company in the performance of his/her assigned duties and responsibilities;

- Collaborate with members of other departments;

- Ensure the company’s compliance with all relevant laws;

- Structure, draft, review and negotiate contracts/agreements in order to align with the company’s objectives;

- Provide strategic and practical advice on contract terms and associated risks to the relevant business stakeholders;

- Render legal opinions;

- Monitor updates in relevant legal landscape in order to timely and effectively implement compliance changes;

- Assist in developing, maintaining and improving legal guidelines, policies, internal trainings and standard form agreements;
- Conducts trainings/orientation on legal matters and the business processes of the company;

- Supports the entire objectives and accomplishment of the legal department’s Key Performance Indicators;

- Perform other legal services in a timely manner, such as but not limited to compliance with regulatory requirements of government agencies, preparation of letters to government agencies and demand letters; and

- Exercise other functions and perform other tasks as may be assigned by the Head of Legal of the company.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Alignment with Legal & Compliance KRA Goals: Measure the percentage of overall Key Result Areas (KRAs) achieved in collaboration with the Business Head.
  • Contract Protection Effectiveness: Assess the percentage of contracts reviewed that fully protect the company’s interests, as evidenced by post-implementation evaluations.
  • Project Collaboration Success: Track the number of special projects successfully managed in partnership with internal and external counsels, including project completion rates.
  • Delivery of Results: Monitor the percentage of planned outcomes achieved within budget and policy guidelines, reflecting effective planning and execution.
  • Team Performance Metrics: Evaluate team performance through individual and collective results, assessing productivity and contribution to departmental goals.
  • Variance Analysis: Analyze and report on variances between actual results and planned commitments, ensuring corrective actions are identified and implemented.
  • Project Communication Efficiency: Measure the frequency and clarity of progress reports communicated to the Compliance Division Head, ensuring timely updates on project status.
  • Adaptability in Planning: Assess the responsiveness of unit plans and priorities in addressing resource and operational challenges, including adjustments made in real-time.

  • Works with the Business Head, to enable the overall KRA’s of Legal & Compliance Services
  • Ensures contracts fully protect  the interest  of  the company
  • Works with the internal and external counsels for special projects
  • Responsible for delivery of end results and contributes to planning, budget and policy development
  • Accountable for the performance and results of the team
  • Tracks and explains variances of actual results versus planned, of its support of assigned Business  and  Compliance  commitments
  • Communicates clearly the  progress of projects to Compliance Division Head 
  • Adapts the units  plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges

HIRING REQUIREMENTS:



Has a Bachelor of Laws or Juris Doctor degree from a Philippine law school. Licensed to practice law in the Philippines. Member in good standing of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines.  At least 5 years of relevant law practice in a law firm. Legal practice focuses on corporate/commercial law and regulatory compliance.


High ethical standards and ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Can work in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment. Has excellent legal and commercial judgment. A good team player. Highly efficient and hardworking. Willing to learn and be trained in other areas of the law and the business. Experience in real estate, construction, and information and communications technology (ICT) is preferable.
