We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Tax Accountant to join our Finance team. This role plays a key part in supporting the company’s multi-state tax compliance efforts, with a primary focus on sales and use tax administration, compliance management, and indirect tax processes. The ideal candidate enjoys problem solving, working with data, and collaborating across departments in a fast-paced environment.
What You’ll Do
Prepare and file multi-state sales/use tax and tire tax returns, ensuring timely and accurate compliance
Collect, organize, analyze, and reconcile tax data used in monthly tax filings
Review and maintain exemption and resale certificates to ensure proper tax treatment by jurisdiction
Assist with sales tax product mapping and taxability reviews across states
Research tax laws, rates, exemptions, and regulatory changes impacting company operations
Partner with internal departments to resolve sales tax calculation issues and troubleshoot system errors
Review notices from taxing jurisdictions and assist with audit support activities
Prepare account reconciliations and support indirect tax reporting processes
Assist with personal property tax filings, business licenses, annual reports, and 1099 reporting
Support federal income tax workpapers and related calculations
Identify process improvements and opportunities for tax savings and compliance efficiencies
Provide guidance to internal teams regarding taxability rules and compliance requirements
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
1–3 years of experience in sales/use tax, indirect tax, public accounting, or corporate accounting
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Working knowledge of GAAP principles
Experience with multi-state tax compliance is a plus
