
Digital Construction Coordinator (VDC/BIM Coordinator)
Job Description
What You Will Be Working On
Perform various project duties related to the Digital Construction project deployment as required.
Perform Design coordination and assist in identifying constructability issues with the project team and subcontractors.
Facilitate, along with the site team, the site logistics plan in a model environment and facilitate and assist the site team in the development of schedule visualization models. Also, video exports will be required on an ad hoc basis.
Assist in training other project staff and subcontractors on digital construction-related software and workflows as required.
Complete other responsibilities as assigned by the district Digital Construction lead, including support during pre-construction.
Travelling to job sites in New Brunswick will be required to provide Digital Construction support to project teams
Ensure Model Accuracy For Project-specific Requirements
Coordinate with consultants, site teams, and subcontractors.
Coordinate 3D laser scans/point cloud models.
Manage the implementation of facilities management-related information from project stakeholders for incorporation into the digital construction model, as required.
Distribute new and revised models as applicable to Change Management documentation.
Compile contract VDC close-out documentation as assigned.
Schedule Visualization
Work with the project team to develop and implement schedule visualization workflows
Educate and guide the site team on the workflows related to schedule visualization
Prepare and submit Look Ahead Schedules and Logistic Plans based on the Construction Schedule
Prepare 4D simulations on an ad-hoc basis
Consultant Coordination
Assist the project teams in developing healthy dialogue with consultants and designers.
Facilitate the timely and orderly collection and/or coordination of all consultant BIM models and
Coordinate, as applicable, with consultant Model Managers and Coordinators, to clarify and update consultant design models.
Lead model coordination meetings
Assist, based on project requirements, in the administration of the BIM Execution Plan as prescribed by either the Consultant or Client.
Subcontractor/Trade Coordination
Assist with updating, maintaining, and distributing documents to the field and subcontractors.
Lead model coordination meetings
Assist in the coordination of models with internal and subcontractor detailers and modelers. Record coordination sign-offs.
What We Are Looking For
Educational and Industry experience requirements include an Engineering degree or an equivalent combination of technical training, construction knowledge, and/or related work experience.
Experience working with BIM/VDC Software such as Revit, ACC, Revizto, and Navisworks Manage
Ability to read and understand plans and specifications
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, and a general understanding of MS Project/Primavera P6
Ability to forge, grow, and maintain positive relationships
Strong analytical, critical thinking, troubleshooting, problem-solving skills, and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Highly developed interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
Demonstrates a sense of urgency and strong commitment to achieving goals; ability to work in a challenging, fast-paced environment
Ability to work collaboratively with a positive attitude
Superior written and verbal communication skills.
