Responsibilities
Our newest opportunity is for a talented Senior Structural Engineer (Civil) to join our award winning team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
This role is not an immediate hire and is targetted for a September 2026 kick off.
This critical role will see an experienced Senior Structural Engineer joining the delivery team of a flagship multi-purpose arena project in Riyadh. The role focuses heavily on the design, analysis, detailing, and construction supervision of structural steel systems (including long-span roofs, facades, and architectural steelwork) as well as Reinforced Cement Concrete (RCC) structures. The successful candidate will ensure structural integrity, compliance with international and Saudi codes, cost-effectiveness, and seamless integration with architectural and MEP requirements in a fast-track giga-project environment.
We envisage success in this role to include:
Leading the detailed design, analysis, and optimization of structural steel elements for the arena’s main roof structure, secondary roofing, and large-span canopy systems.
Designing and supervising structural steel facades, including curtain wall support systems, architectural steel cladding supports, tension structures, and complex geometry steelwork.
Performing advanced structural analysis using ETABS, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, or equivalent, covering static, dynamic, seismic, wind (including vortex shedding), and fatigue loading.
Developing connection designs, fabrication drawings, erection methodologies, and temporary works requirements for heavy steel components.
Ensuring compliance with AISC, Eurocode 3, SBC 304 (Saudi Building Code – Structural), and project-specific performance specifications.
Coordinating with specialist steel fabricators, erectors, and third-party reviewers for value engineering and clash-free integration.
Designing and reviewing all Reinforced Concrete (RCC) elements including foundations, basement structures, arena bowl, concourses, cores, and supporting superstructures.
Optimizing RCC designs for durability, constructability, and integration with the steel superstructure.
Preparing and approving detailed RCC drawings, bar bending schedules, and construction sequences.
Conducting finite element analysis for complex RCC elements under arena-specific loading, including vibration and crowd dynamics.
Reviewing and approving structural shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements from contractors and subcontractors.
Providing technical support during construction, including site inspections, resolution of RFIs, and non-conformance reports.
Executing value engineering exercises to optimize steel and concrete quantities while maintaining safety and performance.
Managing full coordination with architectural, MEP, acoustic, and facade specialists for the arena envelope.
Supporting the preparation of as-built drawings, structural integrity reports, and handover documentation.
Aligning all designs and construction with the Saudi Building Code (SBC), Royal Commission standards, and international best practices.
Integrating structural requirements into the Project Quality Plan (PQP) and supporting QA/QC inspections.
Collaborating closely with the HSE team to maintain safe design and construction practices, particularly for high-risk steel erection and roof works.

To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include 12+ years work experience partnered with a Bachelor degree in Structural or Civil Engineering (Master's or PhD will be valued but not mandatory).
The below points will strengthen your application:
- At least 7 years as a Senior Structural Engineer on large-scale stadiums, arenas, or iconic buildings.
- Extensive hands-on experience in structural steel roofs and facades for major venues (long-span trusses, space frames, cable-supported roofs, or ETFE-supported systems).
- Strong expertise in RCC design for heavy-load, high-occupancy structures.
- Previous experience on KSA giga-projects (Qiddiya, NEOM, Red Sea, etc.) is highly advantageous.
- Professional registration (PE, CEng, or equivalent) and membership in recognized institutions (ICE, IStructE, ASCE, or Saudi Council of Engineers).
KEO’s performance is founded upon integrity, results, innovation, safety and our people. We embrace diversity and recognise its’ contribution to client success wherever we work.
