Position: Heavy Equipment Mechanic
We are seeking for an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team in Angovia (Ivory Coast).
Operational Responsibilities
Perform maintenance (preventive and corrective) and mechanical adjustments on heavy equipment following manufacturers' guidelines and internal work orders.
Perform detailed equipment inspections to detect wear, faults, and required maintenance actions in line with site maintenance standards.
Diagnose faults and mechanical failures using appropriate tools and techniques.
Carry out repairs and component replacements in line with standard operating procedures.
Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults in mobile mining equipment and auxiliary systems.
Carry out repair and replacement of key electrical components, particularly starters and alternators.
Maintain and repair electrical wiring, circuits, and control systems on earthmoving machinery.
Maintain accurate records of performed maintenance and repairs.
Oversee and guide the work of assigned Mechanical Assistants.
Support the Maintenance Supervisor in reporting equipment conditions and technical assessments.
Ensure preventive maintenance reports are properly completed and documented.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the working area.
Take care of and properly use assigned tools and equipment.
Attend daily pre-start meetings and safety briefings.
Safety Responsibilities
Comply with all company Safety Policies and Procedures.
Immediately report any unsafe conditions or incidents.
Ensure that work is performed in accordance with site safety standards and procedures.
Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and ensure subordinates do the same.
Environmental Responsibilities
Comply with EPSA's Environmental Best Practices.
Ensure proper treatment and disposal of maintenance-generated waste.
Comply with environmental regulations and internal procedures for hazardous materials handling.
Qualifications
Vocational Training in Heavy Equipment Mechanics.
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with heavy mining equipment.
Other requirements
OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) training or certifications (Caterpillar, Komatsu, Volvo, EPIROC, Sandvik, Liebherr, etc.).
Familiarity with open-pit operations and large fleet management systems.
Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
Experience working in remote project sites or international assignments.
