We are looking for a surgical PA with a team mindset, interest in urgent/emergent and elective general surgery and who wants to make an impact in a rapidly growing suburban community near Charlotte, NC.
Details about the opportunity include:
At least 1 year of General Surgery experience required.
OR experience required, specifically laparoscopic experience.
We serve the Union County community including Monroe, Waxhaw, and Indian Trail with two current practice locations – one in Monroe and one in Matthews.
Inpatient and outpatient coverage.
No call or weekends.
Practice has been in place since 2014.
Bread and butter general surgery and endoscopy.
Increasing practice and OR volume since 2016.
Must be a PA.
Atrium Health Union West – Overview (Matthews, NC)
Atrium Health Union West is a state-of-the-art, community-based hospital located in Matthews, North Carolina, serving the rapidly growing western Union County region. Opened in 2021–2022, the facility functions as a full-service hospital, emergency department, and specialty care center designed to provide convenient access to high-quality inpatient and outpatient care.
The hospital includes approximately 40 inpatient beds, a 24/7 emergency department, advanced imaging and laboratory services, and multiple operating rooms and procedural suites supporting surgical care.
From a general surgery perspective, Atrium Health Union West supports a broad range of both elective and urgent surgical services in a community setting. The general surgery program provides inpatient and outpatient coverage with access to modern operating rooms and perioperative support services. The general surgery service is integrated within the broader Atrium Health system, allowing collaboration with subspecialty services such as surgical oncology, gastroenterology, and advanced imaging, while maintaining a community-hospital model focused on efficiency, access, and high-quality outcomes.
