As a foundational provider of general, specialty dental services, and Sleep/Airway Disorder treatments, Babylon Dental Care is recognized for its commitment to excellence, compassion, and unmatched patient care. We are currently seeking a Hygiene Assistant to infuse new energy into our Hygiene team. Our Gateway Plaza location in Patchogue, NY is a welcoming and warm environment, intentionally designed to promote collaboration and foster creativity. The intention of this roll is develop our team members into a greater form of service within Babylon Dental Care.

Training! We will train you to become a great hygiene assistant and our (very unique) Global Training program allows you to see how/what all departments do to support you in your role. Many of our Hygiene Assistants have moved into roles as Dental Assistants, Hygienists and even Doctors.
We give plenty of support and we’re with you every step of the way! You start our BDC journey with a 15 day Global Training and your own Ambassador to walk you thru it all. Our intention during the beginning days is to introduce you to BDC's entire service and give you customized and individualize specific training needed to master your roll as Hygiene Assistant.

Our hygiene department is very busy so we need someone who is:
- Reliable and team orientated.
- Out of the box thinker and collaborative to support the teams' growth.
- Empathic and compassionate.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
- Comfortable in patient communication and connection.
- Open to learn all about technologies that will enhance our patient care and service.
- Self motivated and takes initiative without constant direction.
- Calm under pressure, strong communicator.
We expect you to be personally responsible for being on-time and present for every shift you work, and always willing to go the extra mile for our patients!
Knowledge of Dentrix Ascend (or other dental software) would be helpful in setting you up for success, but not mandatory. Ability and open to learn our dental software.
If you have dental experience, great! If not, any customer service or experience in the hospitality industry may be relatable to our practice needs and help you succeed in this role.
Here's an example of what a Hygiene Assistant, might do in a day:
- Assisting in opening or closing clinical side to Practice.
- Calling patients in from reception for treatment.
- Conduct patient experience tours, interview and give new patient notecards.
- Responsible in taking x-rays/wellness scans.
- Set up Hygiene rooms for next patient care appointment.
- Break down rooms after care, following all OSHA protocols.
- Taking impressions, making whitening trays and night guards.
- Delivering whitening trays/night guards to patients with care instructions.
- Sterilization duties and following all OSHA protocols.
- Lab clean up, when needed.
- Following Practice closing procedures.
- Filling out daily log sheets.
- Honor and enhance patient relationships.
- Follow Practice radio SOP.
- Comfortable with keeping up to date with email communications as the day goes on.
- Mentoring new team members when comfortable and can create value.
- Comfortable to ask a happy patient to share their feedback online in a review, or refer a friend to the Practice if they know anyone looking for a new dental home. Proudly sharing our service with others.
- Work collaboratively with the entire Practice to meet or exceed monthly goals so all can receive their check exercise!
We're looking for someone who has:
- 3 or more years experience in a customer service environment.
- Flexibility in regards to scheduling. Our office is open 6 days a week, including early morning, late evenings, and some holidays.
- Experience providing exceptional hospitality-inspired customer service in a fast paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and high follow through.
- A positive, friendly, and enthusiastic attitude.
- Outstanding teamwork skills and the ability to work with a diverse group of people.
- Bi-lingual in English and Spanish welcomed.
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Required)
- College degree optional

- Competitive Compensation: Earn $18 to $20 per hour, reflective of your skills and dedication.

Monthly team bonus opportunities are extended. Most benefits start after your probationary period of 90 days.
