Eaton’s IS VEH EMB division is currently seeking a Financial Analyst.
What you’ll do:
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Responsible for leading the preparation, analysis, and reporting of financial information on a regular basis, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with US GAAP and internal control requirements. Provides actionable insights to leadership, supports strategic decision-making, and actively partners with cross-functional teams to drive financial performance and operational excellence.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
A. Perform a detailed monthly review of final expense figures (P&L) by category and cost center across the three ledgers, ensuring accuracy and providing clear analysis for Division reporting.
B. Review and approve Level 1 purchase requisitions in SAP, ensuring compliance with company policies and budget alignment.
C. Execute post–month-end activities, including the preparation and distribution of financial reports to key stakeholders, providing visibility of final financial results and supporting decision-making.
D. Review, monitor, and approve capital and operational projects, including proper follow-up on execution and financial impact.
E. Track and report monthly cost-out initiatives, ensuring alignment with productivity and cost reduction targets.
F. Prepare and distribute the WOR to leadership, providing insights into business performance, key variances, and operational trends.
G. Review departmental budgets, provide guidance to requestors, and ensure proper financial planning and control.
H. Support the GFSS team by explaining account balances, variances, and ensuring proper reconciliation and understanding of financial data.
I. Participate in the development of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) / Profit Plan, contributing financial analysis, assumptions, and projections.
J. Participate in physical inventory processes, including Control Table and Processing teams, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and proper financial recording.
K. Lead the capital expenditure process, including preparation, submission, and approval of Capital Appropriation Requests (CAR).
L. Perform follow-up on capital projects, ensuring proper budget utilization, timing, and asset capitalization.
M. Manage and control fixed assets, including additions, disposals, tagging, and periodic audits.
N. Perform payroll analysis and validation, with hands-on experience using the TRESS payroll system.
O. Ensure compliance with US GAAP standards, supporting strong internal controls and accurate financial reporting.
P. Support and coordinate internal and external audits (EY, KPMG), including preparation of documentation, explanations, and issue resolution.
Q. Promote a culture aligned with Occupational Safety, Health, and Environmental standards (MESH), ensuring adherence to corporate policies.
R. Maintain and promote proper waste segregation practices within the facility.
S. Ensure correct separation of hazardous and non-hazardous waste and proper disposal in designated containers.
T. Maintain work areas clean, organized, and free of contaminants; promote efficient use of resources such as water and electricity.
U. Report unsafe conditions, environmental risks, and ensure proper handling, identification, and disposal of chemical products, including immediate response to any spill or discharge.
Qualifications:
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE:
• University degree in Accounting.
• Knowledge of Mexican Tax Laws (Federal, State and Local), Infonavit (Housing Authority), IMSS (Social Security) and Customs Laws and regulations.
• 3 years of experience in related areas.
Skills:
FUNTIONAL COMPETENCES
• High knowledge of GAAP
• Financial Models: forecasting, cash flow, projects (NPV, make vs buy)
• Understand and ability to demonstrate effective capital management
• Standard costing knowledge
• Internal controls knowledge and ability to create control processes
DIMENSIONS:
Key metrics:
• Complete BS Reconciliations during the first half of the month.
• Accomplish month end result on time per IC division request.
• Reduce time spent on Freight Analysis (BPI)
• TRCR/DACR
