Based at the Upper Beaver Site, we currently have an exciting opportunity for a Project Procurement Superintendent to join our Construction Team.
Reporting to the Construction Project Manager, you will be an integral part of the Construction department. The Project Procurement Superintendent is responsible for leading and overseeing the full project procurement lifecycle for capital projects, ensuring materials, equipment, and services are sourced, negotiated, awarded, and delivered in alignment with project scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives. The role provides functional leadership to procurement, expediting, logistics, and contract administration activities while ensuring compliance with corporate policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements. The position serves as a key interface between Procurement, Engineering, Construction, Project Controls, HSE, and suppliers to support successful project execution. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle's culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
Direct all procurement activities from planning through contract closeout to ensure materials, equipment, and services meet project scope, schedule, cost, and quality requirements.
Establish and oversee strategic relationships with suppliers and contractors, ensuring performance meets commercial, technical, safety, and regulatory expectations.
Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, ethical standards, legal requirements, and risk‑mitigation frameworks, including oversight of contracts and claims.
Monitor and report procurement commitments, expenditures, changes, and forecasts in alignment with project budgets and cost control systems.
Supervise, mentor, and coordinate procurement, expediting, logistics, and contract administration personnel to ensure effective execution and cross‑functional integration.
Lead all tendering activities goods and services, including contracting strategy, bid evaluation methodology, and commercial positioning.
Direct and control international and domestic logistics, expediting, and inspection activities.
Conduct commercial negotiations and finalize contractual terms within approved limits.
Lead evaluation of variations and claims; approve settlements within authority and recommend higher‑value settlements for approval.
Our ideal candidate has:
10 years experience within procurement activities, inventory management and customer service
Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, problem‑solving, and judgment skills; expertise in procurement, contracting, supplier management, logistics, expediting, and cost control.
Experience in mining or heavy industrial construction projects; strong knowledge of construction Goods & Services contract types and ERP procurement systems.
Bilingual (French/English)
Required travel between Wasamac, Upper Beaver, and Macassa sites, and as required to supplier facilities
No pay range is disclosed, as the compensation range exceeds $200,00.
