Position Summary
The Hallway Café is a social enterprise that provides employment readiness training for youth while operating food and beverage services that support agency programming. As a Youth Case Coordinator – Employment Navigator, you support youth through their transition from training to employment by providing individualized coaching, employment preparation, and ongoing case management support. Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, you build relationships with community employers, create pathways to employment, and support youth and employers throughout the employment journey to promote long-term success and stability.
Schedule
- Monday to Friday; 8:00AM – 4:00PM
- Some flexibility in scheduling is required based on program needs
Key Responsibilities
- Build supportive relationships with youth and provide individualized coaching, encouragement, and crisis support.
- Support youth in developing employment goals, job readiness skills, resumes, interview preparation, and job search strategies.
- Assist youth experiencing mental health, addictions, poverty, and housing challenges through collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Develop, monitor, and support individualized employment and transition plans to promote successful employment outcomes.
- Build and maintain partnerships with employers and community agencies to create employment opportunities for youth.
- Facilitate workshops and employment readiness training, including life skills, stress management, and food service training.
- Maintain accurate documentation, reporting, case files, and program records in alignment with organizational policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Education
- Degree or Diploma in Child and Youth Care (CYC), Social Work, Human Services, or related field.
Certification
- Food Safety
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and vehicle
- Proof of vehicle insurance (min. $2 million liability), registration and 3-year drivers abstract.
- Standard First Aid and CPR.

Experience
- 2+ years of experience working with vulnerable or marginalized youth populations.
- Experience supporting youth impacted by addictions, poverty, mental health, trauma, and other complex barriers.
- Strong knowledge and application of harm reduction, trauma-informed, resiliency-focused, and solution-focused practices.
- Experience facilitating workshops, training, or group-based learning opportunities.
- Experience in hospitality or food service environments is considered an asset.
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive Salary: $52,000.00
