Role Description

We are seeking an IT Application Owner (ITAO) to  the governance, operational stability, compliance, and lifecycle management of critical banking applications within Deutsche Bank. The successful candidate will act as the primary accountable owner for application availability, resilience, regulatory compliance, audit readiness, and technology risk management while working closely with Product Owners, Engineering teams, Operations teams, and Infrastructure teams. The role requires strong leadership capabilities, stakeholder management skills, and a solid understanding of application governance, security controls, and operational excellence.

Your key responsibilities

  • Manage the operational stability, availability, and governance of 3–4 business applications across Production and Non-Production environments.
  • Coordinate incident, problem, change, and release management activities with engineering, infrastructure, and support teams.
  • Support compliance with Deutsche Bank technology policies, risk controls, audit requirements, and regulatory obligations.
  • Track and drive remediation of infrastructure vulnerabilities, patching activities, certificate renewals, and technology compliance actions.
  • Support Disaster Recovery testing, resilience activities, and business continuity requirements.
  • Monitor application risks, issues, and control deficiencies and ensure timely remediation.
  • Manage application onboarding, governance activities, access reviews, NAR processes, and lifecycle management requirements.
  • Work closely with Product Owners, Business stakeholders, Engineering teams, and Infrastructure teams to support application delivery and operational excellence.
  • Support audit reviews, control assessments, and evidence collection activities.
  • Prepare application governance reports, operational metrics, and status updates for stakeholders.
  • Act as a point of contact for application-related operational and governance topics.

Your skills and experience

  • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in IT Application Ownership, Application Support, Production Management, Software Development, or related technology roles. Knowledge of ITIL processes and banking applications would be an advantage.
  • Good understanding of enterprise application architectures and system integration patterns.
  • Hands-on technical knowledge of REST APIs, API integrations, web services, and troubleshooting distributed applications.
  • Understanding of Linux/Unix platforms, databases, middleware components, and cloud technologies.
  • Working knowledge of ITSM/ITIL processes including Incident, Problem, Change, and Release Management.
  • Knowledge of Information Security, Vulnerability Management, Access Management, and Technology Risk controls.
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies, DevOps practices, and CI/CD concepts.
  • Experience using ServiceNow, Jira, Confluence, and monitoring tools.
  • Ability to analyze application issues, coordinate technical teams, and drive resolution.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple applications and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
