Job Description
Head Cook (Chef)– Market Café Opening (Queens, NY)
Start Date: Training July 1, 2, and July 6–10 (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
Grand Opening: July 11
NU3S is seeking an experienced Head Cook to support the pre‑opening and launch of a high‑volume café in Queens, NY.
Pay: $24/hour
Responsibilities:
- Support kitchen setup, menu testing, and pre-opening prep
- Prepare food to recipe and quality standards
- Supervise a staff of 4
- Lead and train kitchen staff in a fast-paced environment
- Oversee food quality, kitchen operations, and workflow
- Manage inventory and minimize waste
- Ensure food safety, sanitation, and compliance
- Maintain a clean, organized kitchen
Qualifications:
- Head Chef, Lead Cook, or Kitchen Manager experience
- QSR, café, and/or bakery background
- ServSafe certification required
- High-volume kitchen experience preferred
- Strong leadership and organization
- Weekend and holiday availability
