Job Description
The role will work on the HS2 project. HS2 is the UK’s new high speed rail network. It will be a catalyst for economic growth across Britain, freeing up space on the existing railways and connecting 8 out of the UK’s 10 biggest cities with fast, reliable and frequent high-speed services.
Costain are delivering the HS2 Rail Systems Tunnel and Lineside Mechanical and Electrical Systems works for HS2, across the whole of the HS2 Route (HRS02). The scope includes the design, supply, manufacture, installation, testing, commissioning and maintenance (until handover) of the tunnel and lineside M&E systems which includes the tunnel services within the shafts, tunnels and cross-passages, and the low voltage electrical power distribution in the open route. Costain will further design, supply, install, test and commission the tunnel ventilation systems.
The value of the scheme at award is £500m.
Reporting to the Engineering & Design Lead, the requirements Manager works with the project engineering and design teams and other specialists to elicit, understand, analyse, and document the requirements for Package 2 of the HS2 Rail Systems Contracts.
Responsibilities
Developing the Requirements Management processes and procedures in line with both the Costain and Client (HS2) requirements.
Ensuring the application of the Costain+ Requirements Management Plan and processes to elicit analyse record and verify / validate the requirements of the Package 2 Rail Systems contract for HS2.
Working with design teams subcontractors and subject matter experts to allocate requirements to Asset level requirements specification and to determine the relevant appropriate verification and validation activities.
Production and submissions of Verification Validation Matrices (VVM’s) to support the technical design assurance process.
Reporting on the performance of the Requirements Management and verification process.
Driving innovation in the requirements management approach.
Fostering collaborative working within the Requirements Management team and the project team through data base management, team integration and workflows
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Essentials
Experienced in the use of DOORS to manage project requirements
Strong communication skills
Desirable
- Previous experience of working on large infrastructure projects, multidisciplinary teams, in particular experience in civil engineering or rail would be an advantage
