Job Description

SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

As the Technical Sales Support Manager, you will be responsible to manage the Technical Service Support department in the Jotun Saudia by close cooperation with the organization’s functions, coaching and training of staff and active involvement in operational matters to make sure that Performance Coatings business in the local unit is operating with safe and efficient systems by competent staff for paints specifications, guarantee handling, claims management, sales support, technical training and technical service.

The position is based at Dammam and reports to the Protective & Marine Segment Director.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the technical integrity of how Performance Coatings products and systems are sold and applied within the assigned unit(s) by managing replies to technical questions related to coating systems, specifications, guarantees, and application, to ensure expected coatings performance and minimization of risk of claims.

  • Manage the technical part of Performance Coatings complaint processes within the assigned unit(s) by ensuring a timely conclusion to complaints and feedback to customers in order to ensure that Jotun is perceived as a preferred and professional supplier along with local technical documentation and statements in line with local market needs and global guidelines.

  • Drive internal learning from complaints processes by regular review meetings, action plans and follow up, identifying root cause, corrective actions and monitoring the efficiency of corrective actions to minimize risk of repetition.

  • Through training ensure that the knowledge is transferred to the local organization, general technical knowledge as well as detailed specific product knowledge and knowledge of Jotun's global working processes within Marine and Protective coatings to ensure competent and committed staff in line with market needs.

  • Manage and lead the team by developing, guiding and supporting team members and ensuring the staffing and competence profile of the team is fit-for-purpose in order to achieve agreed objectives and performance and support the R&D function by carrying out trial applications and field testing.

  • Ensure the technical Service policies, procedures, and operating structure are in place to ensure Jotun’s quality standard is met and develop the local Technical Sales Support business plans and dept. operations, including budget development both short and long term, in line with Marine and Protective strategy following up on the local business development activities of the Performance Coatings business in Saudi Arabia.

Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • 7+ Years relevant experience in Technical Service & Sales Support function

  • Specific certifications: AMPP/ Nace Level 3

  • Proven leadership, strategic thinking, and Techno-commercial acumen.

  • Fluency in English – both verbal and written.
