Join the MercyOne Family! We are looking to hire a Food Production Worker.

As a Food Production Worker at MercyOne, you will prepare and serve all meals for patients according to prescribed diets, adhering to state and federal regulations.  Facilitates meal preparation using a variety of menus for patients, staff and retail operations.  Responsible for assisting with patient care by providing food appropriate for each individual diet. Cleans assigned areas.

  • Maintains a clean working environment adhering to state and federal regulations. 
  • Monitors infection control protocols.
  • Accurately prepares food using standardized recipes.
  • Minimizes food cost waste and spoilage.
  • Demonstrates proper use, care and maintenance of all food preparation equipment ie. stoves, fryers, grills, steam ovens, toasters, food processors, grinders, and other major pieces of equipment.
  • Assists with patient care by providing food appropriate to each individual's diet.
  • Prepares entrees, starches, bakery items, soups, salads, vegetables, texture-modified food according to menu and projected needs.  Produces high quality products by adhering to standardized recipes, methods and seasoning specifications. Ensures food is prepared at specified times.
  • Provides services in the cafeteria representing the organization in a positive and professional manner.
  • Measures and mixes ingredients according to approved recipes and methods using blenders, mixers, grinder, slicers, knives, etc.
  • Maintains clean equipment and work area.  Follows schedules for cleaning equipment and notifies leadership of equipment operating problems.  Observes infection control practices at all times.

Schedule:

  • Vaired shifts; every other weekend; holiday rotation

General Requirements:

  • Practical experience in healthcare setting is desired. 
  • One-year of experience is preferred.
  • Must be able to calculate and prepare diets accurately from standardized recipes for patients/residents and staff.
  • Maintains an excellent working relationship within the department and with all of our internal and external customers.
  • Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
  • Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission and vision, goals, and values of Trinity Health.

Education:

  • High school education or equivalent is preferred.
