GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
The Mid-Level Quality Engineer plays a key role in maintaining and improving product quality in the Assembly Value Stream. This role involves leading audits, analyzing quality data, and driving corrective actions. The engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams and supports new product development initiatives.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Monitor production flow and address quality issues proactively.
- Analyze First Pass Yield (FPY) and scrap rate data to identify improvement opportunities.
- Track and reduce scrap rates through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Manage quarantine inventory and implement corrective actions.
- Lead process and product audits and follow up on findings.
- Coordinate Early Launch Containment (ELC) activities for new products.
- Analyze customer complaint data and lead corrective action efforts.
- Manage the Corrective Action process for the assigned value stream, driving resolution in a timely manner according to the Club Car Problem-solving rules.
- Lead and participate in structured problem-solving projects (e.g., 8D, A3, 9-Step).
- Maintain and improve quality documentation in compliance with Club Car QMS and IATF 16949.
- Participate and contribute in the PFMEA reviews
- Monitor and control sort/inspection results
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical equivalent.
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer Preferred
- Six Sigma certification (Any Level) Preferred
Experience:
- 3+ years of Quality Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge and experience in problem-solving tools (8D, A3, 5 Why, Fishbone), acting as a leader and as a team member
- Knowledge and experience with AIAG APQP Process and AIAG Core Tools and Quality Tools.
- Knowledge and experience with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 Quality Management Systems.
Skills:
- Ability to use basic Metrology equipment and hand tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database software.
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
- Understanding of tolerance stack up analysis and layout.
- Ability to read and interpret GD&T drawings.
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Able to make timely decisions in stressful situations.

- Leadership, motivational, and project management skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Work requires periodic stooping/bending and frequent walking/standing throughout the day.
- Requires occasional lifting of objects less than 25 pounds and of objects 25 to 50 pounds.
- Work involves activities that require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, machines, or vehicles.
- Requires use of personal protective equipment.
