Job Title: Operating Room - Orderly
First Shift - Full Time
Job Description:
The Orderly reports directly to the Director of Surgical Services and/or Clinical Manager. Responsible for maintaining the operating room environment and supplies; responsible for transporting surgical patients from their rooms to the operating room; and complies with the policies, principles and activities established by the Code of Conduct and the Corporate Compliance Program.

Additionally, other duties may be assigned at the discretion of leadership to meet business, customer, and/or patient needs.
- Completes transfers in a timely manner: Notifies OR charge Nurse or designee if there is a delay
- Transports patients with side rails up
- Utilizes all procedures for transferring patients (i.e. Ticket to Ride)
- Anticipates the need for equipment and supplies
- Assists with ordering supplies by notifying responsible parties that place orders.
- Removes malfunctioning equipment from use and tags
- Assists with putting away supplies/stock and daily routine checks within the department
- Checks eye wash stations weekly
- Checks supplies and restocks:
- Stocks warmer with fluids and blankets: Knowledgeable regarding temperature ranges for warmers for both fluids and blankets and actions to take if it is out of range
- Assists OR personnel with moving equipment from room to room as needed
- Assist with room turnover.
- Records temperatures and humidity each day and reports any out of range readings
- Damp dusts rooms first thing every workday
- Cleans room, tables, beds between cases and at end of day or as needed
- Assists with room set-up as needed
Essential Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association
