In 2024, the foundation launched the Dell Aspire Scholars program, supporting high-achieving students at Delhi Technological University and Hansraj College with career coaching, mentorship, and leadership development to help them succeed in their careers and communities.
 
About the Position
Title: Scholar Success Manager, Dell Aspires Scholars, India
Office Location: New Delhi, India
Travel requirements: The role will be primarily based out of the college campus; ~2 days a week at our Delhi office. There will be opportunities for international travel to our US and Africa offices.

We are seeking an individual passionate about fostering a learning and nurturing ecosystem for scholars to guide them towards their graduation and career outcomes. The Scholar Success Manager will be responsible for driving on-ground support across the aforementioned areas of academic, financial, wellness and career-linked learning. This individual should be self-motivated, student-centric, empathetic, aligned to the program’s vision, detail- and deadline-oriented, and responsive to the changing needs of scholars, university partners, and the operating environment. Specific responsibilities include the following:
 
Scholar Engagement (40%)
  • Build strong relationships and maintain close contact with Dell Aspire Scholars to support them throughout their graduation and address their changing support needs.
  • Provide individual and group sessions to address scholars’ concerns and develop strategies for academic success and personal growth.
  • Organize and facilitate a wide range of group activities and events, including sports tournaments, cultural showcases, coding fests, and other engaging programs for overall development of scholars.
  • Coordinate and facilitate master classes and practice sessions on communication skills, time management, stress management to enhance career and life readiness.
  • Provide career advisory support, including resume reviews, mock interviews, and personalized job search strategies to guide scholars in their career exploration and placement journey.
Execution Excellence (30%)
  • Coordinate the interview process during selection process to help identify students that meet the program’s eligibility criteria and onboard selected scholars to impart a clear understanding of the program’s support offering and technology toolset.
  • Facilitate creation and tracking of personalized goals and create personalized support plans for scholars, including referrals to tutoring services, learning workshops, or mental wellbeing sessions.
  • Liaise with the learning partners to ensure timely and quality delivery of learning interventions.
  • Ensure the timely collection and update of information of all scholars (learning interventions, counselling sessions, attendance, etc.) on our proprietary case management platform.
  • Serve as a liaison with recruiters, fostering connections and partnerships to assist scholars in accessing top internship opportunities aligned with their career goals.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders across the US, Africa and India teams to contribute to the overall success of Dell Scholarship programs.
Risk Mitigation (30%)
  • Conduct regular check-ins with scholars to assess their academic progress, personal well-being, and overall college experience.
  • Identify scholars who may be at risk of academic underperformance, mental health issues, or other challenges by analyzing check-in data, academic records, and feedback from faculty and staff.
  • Formulate and execute a plan for course correction along with relevant stakeholders for at-risk scholars.
  • Build rapport with university professors and administration for their timely support and redressal of scholar challenges and needs.
  • Respond tactically to scholars in trauma or in need of emergency support, when required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree
  • ~5 years’ work experience (preferably working with university students)
  • Experience in supporting psychosocial challenges and ability to manage students in trauma
  • Ability to think strategically and interact tactically with a diverse student population to deal with sensitive issues
  • Excellent planning and problem-solving skills
  • High level proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Sound communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to function in a multilingual and multi-cultural environment
