Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Corporate Strategy is seeking a Principal Strategy Analyst within the Strategy & Technology Organization, reporting to the Sr. Director of Strategic Ventures & Partnerships. This position will be located at Northrop Grumman Headquarters in Falls Church, VA. The selected candidate will support the development of portfolio-shaping strategies that optimize the company’s positioning for long-term value creation.
To that end, the Corporate Strategy Analyst will:
Support the development and execution of strategic partnerships: This may entail helping identify and analyze opportunities with potential partners and preparing detailed reports and presentations. The candidate would assist in coordinating with internal teams to align partnership goals with company objectives, and supporting ongoing relationships both internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, the candidate may be responsible for tracking partnership performance metrics and providing insights to assist executive decision making.
Assist in sourcing, analyzing, and executing venture investments: This role will support strategic and financial analyses of startups working on technologies aligned with Northrop Grumman’s strategic priorities and will assist with the development, execution, and integration of minority equity investments. The candidate will also be responsible for portfolio management activities associated with Northrop Grumman’s current venture investments.
Support and/or lead industry analysis projects: The position will also support general Corporate Strategy projects and will contribute to various analytical efforts to support enterprise-wide strategic planning, development of competitive assessments, identification of key trends, in-depth understanding of our business environment and assessment of future competitive opportunities.
Support ad hoc analysis and special projects: Respond to or support executive sponsored special projects with dynamic requirements; succinctly and accurately present findings to leadership via development of executive-level presentations (e.g., on competitors, industry trends, inorganic growth opportunities, etc.).
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with minimum of 5 years of experience OR Master's degree with minimum of 3 years of experience.
The ability to collect, analyze, and synthesize business and financial insights from multiple sources.
A minimum of 2 years of experience specifically in market assessment, competitive assessment and/or in a strategic consulting role.
Experience in financial analysis, corporate development, venture finance, and/or strategy development.
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
Candidates must have the ability to obtain, and maintain, a U.S. Government secret level security clearance as a condition of continued employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
MBA or other relevant graduate degree, or an undergraduate degree with significant analytical experience related to market, competitor or valuation analysis in an industrial company relevant to the defense industry.
Dynamic self-starter with attention to detail, strong work ethic, ability to handle multiple priorities, and the ability to function with minimal guidance.
Strong analytical, statistical, and critical thinking skills paired with the ability to succinctly summarize analysis for executive management.
Able to conduct independent research and demonstrate the skills and ability to perform fairly complex tasks independently and develop solutions to a variety of complex problems.
Experience in the aerospace and/or defense industry, with working knowledge of customers, priorities, and the competitive landscape.
The ability to communicate effectively with senior levels of management.
Project Management experience.
