Job Description

Position Summary:

The Materials Administrator verifies and keeps records of incoming and outgoing shipments.

Accountabilities:

  • Examine contents and verify appropriate signoffs on incoming or outgoing shipments and compare with records such as manifests, invoices or orders.
  • Perform cycle counting and physical inventory duties as necessary.
  • Prepare documents, including work orders, bills of lading and shipping orders, to route materials.
  • Provide timely documentation and communicate with suppliers regarding non-conforming materials and required corrective actions.
  • Record scrap documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Record shipment data accurately, including weight, charges, damages, and discrepancies, for reporting, accounting & recordkeeping purposes.
  • Support Dee Zee's environmental policy through proactive process implementation, continuous improvement suggestions, waste reduction efforts and action on environmental performance results and findings.
  • Verify and enter delivery and shipment documents into the computer system accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Assemble, label, inventory, and ship merchandise or materials.
  • Confer and correspond with appropriate representatives to resolve issues such as damages, shortages, paperwork errors and processing non-conforming materials.

Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of related experience.
  • Ability to stop the production line and/or prevent shipment of products due to nonconformance or potential nonconformance products to our customers.
  • Customer- and client-focused.
  • Must demonstrate computer literacy and the ability to learn custom programs.
  • Ability and willingness to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
