HybridWhat you will do
As a Trade Operations Specialist, you will drive operational excellence across trade operations and compliance, ensuring efficient, compliant, and cost-effective import/export processes. You will leverage analytical insights, financial acumen, and cross-functional collaboration to optimize performance and support business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate across front, middle, and back-office teams to ensure seamless trade execution, settlement, and compliance.
Analyze trade data, market trends, and operational performance to identify risks, opportunities, and cost-saving initiatives.
Drive continuous improvement by implementing process enhancements, automation, and digital solutions.
Ensure compliance with customs regulations, trade laws, and internal policies; stay updated on regulatory changes.
Manage import/export operations, including customs clearance, licenses, and broker/3PL/4PL relationships.
Establish and maintain vendor accounts and support supplier assessments.
Monitor KPIs and performance metrics to improve efficiency, cost control, and service levels.
Partner with cross-functional teams (Logistics, Procurement, Finance, Government Affairs, Technology) to optimize trade processes and systems.
Act as a key liaison with internal stakeholders, external partners, and regulatory authorities.
Provide training, guidance, and mentorship to team members to foster a high-performance culture.
Support compliance audits, reporting, and issue resolution.
Contribute to the development of trade operations and compliance strategies aligned with business objectives.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Business Administration, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field.
2–4 years of experience in trade operations, trade compliance, or supply chain-related roles.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and drive decisions.
Solid understanding of import/export processes, logistics, and customs regulations.
High attention to detail and data accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Live in Mexico City or Estado de México.
Advanced English.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience with cost optimization and financial analysis (P&L understanding).
Knowledge of customs valuation, classification, and special trade programs.
Familiarity with SAP and trade compliance/automation tools.
Experience in FMCG or fast-paced supply chain environments.
Project management experience and continuous improvement mindset.
Ability to influence and collaborate across regional and global teams.
Customer-centric and proactive approach to problem solving.
