As a Reading Specialist at Pinnacle School, you'll help students with language-based learning differences develop the literacy skills and confidence they need to thrive. Working alongside a collaborative team of educators and specialists, you'll deliver individualized, evidence-based instruction that empowers students to reach their full potential.
What You'll Need
Master’s degree and valid Connecticut State 102 Remedial Reading and Remedial Language Arts certification or eligibility for Connecticut licensure
Training or certification in Orton-Gillingham, Wilson Reading System, or another structured multi-sensory literacy approach
Minimum of two years of experience working with students with special education needs and language-based learning differences
Experience with IEP implementation, progress monitoring, and educational data collection
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills with a commitment to helping students of all abilities succeed
What You'll Do
Deliver individualized and small-group reading interventions using evidence-based, multi-sensory instructional practices
Monitor student progress, analyze data, and adjust instruction to support growth toward IEP goals
Collaborate with teachers, therapists, families, and school districts to ensure coordinated student support
Develop engaging lessons that address each student's unique strengths, challenges, and learning profile
Maintain accurate documentation, participate in team meetings, and contribute to a positive learning environment
