POSITION SUMMARY

Lead the end-to-end strategy and performance of the Ruminants Business Unit in Brazil, with full accountability for results (P&L and IBT) and for accelerating sustainable growth.

This role sets strategic priorities and ensures excellence in commercial execution, reinforcing the strategic relevance of the function within Zoetis Brazil. The position is part of the leadership team and contributes to the company’s enterprise-wide priorities.

Drive focus toward the segments, channels, regions, and initiatives with the greatest growth and return potential, while maintaining rigorous cost discipline and productivity.

Orchestrate through strong cross-functional collaboration the portfolio agenda, demand planning/forecasting, and integrated marketing and sales plans. Develop leaders and strengthen the team, elevating performance, a culture of accountability, and succession planning.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Strategy & Choices

  • Define the BU’s strategic ambition and translate it into annual and quarterly priorities.
  • Turn market and customer insights into clear choices (where to compete/how to win) and into an initiative portfolio with accountable owners, targets, and timelines.
  • Interpret and operationalize corporate and global strategies for the Brazilian context, ensuring alignment with the regional/global species strategy.
  • Analyze data and insights (market, competition, channel, region, customer) to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and adjust plans with agility.

Reallocation of Investments & Resources

  • Review and reprioritize investments (capex/opex) and resources to capture the highest-potential opportunities and correct misalignments.
  • Ensure performance governance (review cadences, KPIs, and course-correction actions), balancing growth, margin, mix, and efficiency.

Commercial Excellence & Integrated Execution

  • Integrate Marketing and Sales into execution plans, with a focus on productivity and quality of customer delivery.
  • Strengthen pricing strategy and value proposition to drive profitable growth.
  • Cascade the strategic plan into tactical approaches by segment/channel/region, with clear targets and continuous performance tracking.
  • Develop and activate formal and informal networks with strategic customers, distributors, influencers, and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), ensuring high-quality business feedback loops.
  • Support partnerships and initiatives with associations, professional groups, and ecosystem players that create sustainable competitive advantage.

Financial Management & Operational Discipline

  • Lead product launches and portfolio lifecycle management, ensuring end-to-end readiness (supply, pricing, materials, training, regulatory) and execution.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and expense controls, ensuring target delivery and early risk identification.
  • Build mitigation plans for events that may impact results (market shifts, competitive moves, supply constraints, execution risks).

Cross-Functional Orchestration & Stakeholder Management

  • Coordinate actions with Finance, Supply/Logistics, R&D, Regulatory (RTO), and other areas to ensure end-to-end execution.
  • Maintain strategic relationships with key customers, channels, and relevant external entities.
  • Coordinate the innovation/portfolio agenda with R&D, VMRD, and global/regional teams, bringing Brazilian market needs forward and ensuring local execution.

Team Development

  • Build and develop a high-performing team (talent, succession, engagement, and retention).
  • Reinforce a culture of accountability, collaboration, and values.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree required (preferably in Veterinary Medicine, Animal Science, or related fields).
  • Preferred: MBA and/or Master’s degree in Business.
  • Proven experience in commercial/marketing leadership and business management, including people leadership and full P&L accountability.
  • Strong background in marketing and/or sales, with demonstrated strategy execution and cross-functional leadership.
  • Fluent English and willingness to travel extensively (approximately 60% of the time), including international travel.
  • Strong analytical capability, strategic mindset, influence, and execution in a fast-paced environment.
  • Represent the Business Unit in Brazil with executive presence and emotional intelligence with key customers, senior leadership, and internal teams; lead negotiations and critical discussions with clear communication, composure under pressure, and strong internal and external influencing skills.

PHYSICAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Travel extensively (approximately 60–70% of the time), including international travel.
