The Executive Director, Social will lead social-first marketing strategy across the network's original series and brand campaigns. This role serves as an expert on social platforms, audience behavior, creator ecosystems, and emerging digital trends, translating platform intelligence into breakthrough marketing strategies that drive awareness, fandom, conversation, and cultural relevance.Reporting to the Vice President of Social and Audience Growth, this leader will develop and oversee social strategy across all campaigns while partnering closely with Originals Marketing, Brand Marketing, Publicity, Media, Growth Marketing, Creative Services, and Events teams to ensure social is embedded from campaign inception through launch and lifecycle management.
This role requires equal parts strategist, cultural observer, platform expert, and organizational influencer.
Key Responsibilities
Social Strategy Leadership
- Establish strategic frameworks, best practices, and measurement approaches across all social marketing efforts.
- Develop platform-specific strategies that maximize audience engagement, conversation, and cultural impact.
- Translate audience insights, platform trends, and cultural moments into actionable marketing opportunities.
- Develop strategies that deepen fandom, increase engagement, and strengthen audience loyalty.
- Identify opportunities to cultivate creator communities, fan advocates, and cultural influencers.
- Ensure social channels serve as meaningful touchpoints between audiences and the brand.
Platform Expertise & Innovation
- Serve as the organization's leading expert on emerging and established social platforms including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Threads, Reddit, Snapchat, and future platforms.
- Advise senior leadership on platform evolution, consumer behavior shifts, and emerging opportunities.
- Identify innovative social formats, creator partnerships, and engagement tactics that can advance campaign objectives.
- Drive experimentation and learning agendas to continuously improve performance and audience connection.
Cross-Functional Campaign Leadership
- Partner closely with Originals & Brand Marketing teams to build social strategies that support title-specific and brand initiative business objectives.
- Work alongside Publicity teams to amplify earned media moments and integrate talent-driven opportunities into campaign plans.
- Partner with Media and Growth teams to align organic and paid social efforts, ensuring cohesive audience journeys and campaign performance.
- Collaborate with Creative Services to develop social-native creative concepts and executional best practices.
Team Leadership
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and platform fluency.
- Establish clear goals, priorities, and development plans for direct reports.
- Build organizational social expertise through education and knowledge sharing.
Measurement & Insights
- Define success metrics and reporting frameworks across social campaigns.
- Analyze performance trends and audience behaviors to inform future strategy.
- Deliver actionable insights and recommendations to marketing leadership and key stakeholders.
- Use data to optimize content, engagement strategies, and campaign effectiveness.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in social media, digital marketing, entertainment marketing, or audience engagement.
- Deep expertise across major social platforms and evolving digital ecosystems.
- Proven track record developing social-first strategies for premium entertainment brands, media companies, streaming services, studios, or consumer brands.
- Strong understanding of audience development, creator marketing, community management, and cultural trend analysis.
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives across marketing, publicity, media, creative, and production teams.
- Demonstrated success managing and developing high-performing teams.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical mindset with ability to translate data into strategic recommendations.
Compensation
$175,000 - $195,000
