External Ambassador / Valet

Job Summary
Under the supervision and direction of the MHS Manager or Team Lead, the External Ambassador is responsible for welcoming guests to and/or from the hospital and local areas in a friendly and courteous manner. External Ambassadors are also responsible for parking cars in a safe, efficient manner and working with valets and other staff to maintain the flow of traffic in the area.
Key Responsibilities

Welcomes every guest (both visitors and staff) right away.

Helps guests get inside by opening doors, guiding them, offering wheelchairs, or helping with bags.

Keeps the assigned area clean, tidy, and comfortable.

Politely answers guest questions and handles concerns quickly.

Chats with guests to make them feel welcome and cared for.

Stays calm and patient when helping all guests.

Knows basic info about the building, events, transportation, and airport services.

Knows what to do in emergencies or unsafe situations.

Takes care of safety issues like spills, blocked doors, or loose cords.

Follows company rules to keep the work area safe and organized.

Keeps all work and guest information private in accordance with HIPAA.

Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements

High School Diploma/ GED or equivalent experience.

Must be able to work legally in the United States.

Able to speak, read, and write English fluently.

Must pass background and drug screenings.

Required to meet immunization or health screening requirements.

Required to have a valid driver’s license with no restrictions and present most recent driving record.

Must be able to drive a stick shift (manual and automatic).

Ability to demonstrate professionalism, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Passion for customer service and attention to detail.
Physical Requirements

Willingness to work in the elements (heat, wind, snow, rain, etc.).

Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, talk, see, and hear.

Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Must be able to push and pull (on wheelchair) 100 to 350 pounds, frequently over considerable distances.

Ability to work flexible schedules and extended hours is sometimes required.
