Job Description

 

 

Project Duration: Fixed Term - (Extendable)

Project Base: Onshore & Offshore

 

Qualification:

 

  • Minimum 10+ years in piping and welding inspection
  • 5+ years as Piping/Welding Supervisor or Lead Inspector role
  • Proven experience under DNV standards and subsea fabrication
  • Experience with subsea components – risers, spools, sleepers, bridges
  • Fabrication surveillance experience in yard or shop environment
  • Brownfield and modification work experience preferred
  • Experience with NDT coordination (RT, UT, PT, ET)
  • Familiarity with offshore/subsea projects and installation procedures.

 

Job Responsibilities 

 

  • Discipline Inspectors (generally reporting to the QC Leads) Welding (Structural or Piping) Inspection shall include (but no be limited to):

 

  • Weld Procedures including:
  1. reviewing WPS, PQRS, and welder qualifications;
  2. confirming that correct WPS is applied per weld map;
  3. Witnessing mechanical and/or radiographic testing of weld qualifications.

 

  • Visual Inspection Including:
  1. edge preparation of base material;
  2. fit-up and alignment of joints;
  3. qualification of welders;
  4. confirming proper consumables are being used (including material and diameters);
  5. confirming proper cleaning between passes;
  6. confirming proper machine settings;
  7. ensuring proper preheat and PWHT set-up and performance;
  8. Verifying welders' identification on completed welds.

 

  • Non -Destrcutibe Testing Including:
  1. radiography technique and radiographic review;
  2. dye penetrant;
  3. magnetic particle;
  4. ultrasonic;
  5. hardness test;
  6. positive material identification (PMI) test;
  7. on-site chemical test;
  8. crack-depth indication;
  9. AII other NOE tests, as required.

 

  • SHOP Inspection including:
  1. verifying proper handling and issuance of consumables;
  2. reviewing MTRs for base material and consumables;
  3. confirming traceability of materials (alloy, low-temperature carbon steel, pressure- retaining components, and other critical materials);
  4. monitor shop- welding documentation;
  5. verify proper handling of material;
  6. inspection of cladding processes and clad materials;

 

  • Pressure Testing:
  1. Witness pressure tests (hydrostatic and/or pneumatic).
