Job Description Summary
Under limited supervision, this position is responsible for planning the annual giving program and assisting with maintaining the integrity of the college’s fund-raising database and prospect research. Works independently and in close collaboration with colleagues to maximize participation and contributions.Applicants claiming preference are responsible for providing required documentation at the time of submitting application.

Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s degree required.
An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.
Minimum Experience/Training:
Six years of professional experience in a non-profit, not-for-profit, or fundraising setting with a focus on gathering and analyzing data from internal and external sources.
Proven experience in facilitating annual giving goals, managing basic constituent engagement, and effectively using database information to plan, facilitate and evaluate programs.
Essential Functions:
Daily -20%: Responsible for planning the annual giving program and assisting with maintaining the integrity of the college’s fund-raising database and prospect research. Ensures compliance with IRS regulations and Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) guidelines.
Daily -20%: Works effectively with colleagues in the Office of Advancement to plan, execute and evaluate annual giving strategies to move existing donors up to the major gifts team.
Daily -10%: Responsible for providing strategic leadership and long-range and short-term planning for the areas of data input, receiving/processing gifts, prospect management and research. Provides recommendations to Associate Vice President of Development.
Other -10%: Establishes annual goals for the number of alumni and faculty/staff donors and facilitates a solicitation schedule comprising all ask techniques (personal, mail, telephone, electronic media). Develops processes to maximize integrity of data and the information contained in the database.
Daily -10%: Manages and monitors annual scholarships.
Other -10%: Coordinates with departments to improve biographical and contact information on annual donors and alumni and assists in the advancement of effective data-mining strategies.
Other -5%: Through annual giving, advances prospects to the major gift pipeline.
Other -5 %: Manages and ensures the proper processes and systems are in place for the timely, effective and efficient handling of gifts from the point of receiving, through processing, recording, receipting, acknowledging, reporting and tracking.
Other -5 %: Develops business processes for anticipating and meeting needs of colleagues in the Office of Advancement, the Foundation department, and the college.
Other -5%: Performs related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Proficient in the use of emerging research tools including, but not limited to Foundation Center, GuideStar, Hoovers, LexisNexis for Development Professionals, Philnet, and Public Records
Proficient in IRS regulations, CASE guidelines, professional standards
Strong organizational, oral, written communication, and customer service skills
Ability to analyze information and produce strategic development recommendations
Demonstrated knowledge, skills and abilities in the fundamental basics of annual giving programming, comprising of identification, cultivation, engagement, solicitation and stewardship
Proven ability to lead projects to completion and the ability to plan and set meaningful objectives
Ability to ensure consistent integrity of data in all Advancement applications
Ability to plan and manage own work flow, priorities, and results accomplishment
Ability to interact and effectively communicate with employee and student populations
Excellent coordination and communication skills used appropriately to influence the decision-making of colleagues and primary and natural public partners
