
CADD Technician I
Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
As a CADD Technician, you will be responsible for production of CAD drawings from sketches, hard-line drawings, other electronic formats, and “red line drawings”.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Prepares computer-generated survey drawings, according to company standards and procedures, from field collected data using CAD software.
- Performing all tasks related to FDOT R/W Mapping, including but not limited to: Control Mapping, Maintenance Mapping, R/W Mapping, TITTF Easements, parcel calculations, and map labeling.
- Process field data and integrate it into CAD files.
- Plots drawings to the appropriate scale.
- May work in Microstation, Caice, Geopak, Open Roads
- Basic calculations for field drawings.
- Review and compare field notes to final maps.
- Make corrections after quality control checks.
- Revise or change survey drawings, traces and/or copies existing drawings and completes simple calculations with specific instructions.
- Plan, prioritize and organize effectively; and the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all staff
- Organize, multi-task, and prioritize daily workload with minimum supervision and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Collect, organize, disseminate and analyze significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Finalize CAD files and project folders for archiving.
- May perform light office duties including but not limited to filing, making copies, and scanning.
- May carry out other duties as assigned by management.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma or equivalent; minimum 1-year CAD experience (drafting land surveys).
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, and a working understanding of CAD standards and conventions.
- Knowledge of field procedures is a plus.
- Familiarity with industry codes and standards.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- The job requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods at a computer workstation.
- Must occasionally lift or move up to 10 pounds
- Regularly required to sit, talk, or listen.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This will be a high volume fast paced work environment managing documents. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
