We are seeking a visionary and compassionate Director of Psychiatric Medical Services to lead our interdisciplinary clinical team. The Medical Director will be committed to open access, integrated care models, and improving health outcomes through innovative, evidence-based practices. The ideal candidate will champion the delivery of accessible, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive psychiatric care for individuals and families across our community.

In this key leadership role, the Psychiatric Medical Director will oversee all psychiatric services, ensure clinical excellence and regulatory compliance, and guide the expansion of treatment programs aligned with the CCBHC model. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical leadership and oversight of psychiatric services, including psychiatry, medication management, and integrated care coordination.
  • Supervise and support a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychiatric APRN's and the clinical team.
  • Ensure all psychiatric services are aligned with CCBHC standards, federal and state regulations, and organizational policies.
  • Champion Open Access to care, ensuring timely intake assessments and medication evaluations for all clients.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership on strategic planning, quality assurance, and the development of new service lines.
  • Provide psychiatric evaluations, treatment planning, and psychotropic medication management for a small caseload.
  • Lead or participate in case consultations, clinical reviews, and staff training to foster continuous improvement.
  • Integrate psychiatric services with primary care and substance use disorder treatment in a holistic care model.
  • Ensure documentation and EHR compliance standards are met.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and development of psychiatric providers.

EDUCATION EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:

 

  1. Must be a Board-Certified Psychiatrist licensed in the State of Florida.
  2. Successful completion of a background investigation with the Florida Department of Professional Regulations.
  3. Minimum of two years progressive experience in a community mental health center, health care system, or medical practice.
  4. Previous experience as a physician leader with demonstrated success in monitoring and evaluating the quality and effectiveness of clinical programs is preferred. Experience working with Medicaid, Medicare, and pre-paid health plans is highly desired.
  5. Experience with the use of an electronic health record is required
  6. Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience.
  7. Must have mastery of the medical field and the management field and be able to properly supervise and lead (and oversee) the work of other medical and clinical personnel.
  8. Requires excellent communication skills and the ability to relate well to all types of people. High energy level, comfortable performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  9. Strong persuasive and presentation skills, self-starter, strong problem solving and analytical skills (has the ability to “think outside the box”).
  10. Requires ability to monitor clients through visual and auditory means.
  11. Requires ability to read and speak English correctly. Requires ability to assess clinical performance of all clinical providers and must be able to encourage growth and development of the clinical staff.
  12. Requires ability to develop practice changes within the organizational context which strengthens overall clinical practice.
  13. Requires ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  14. Requires the ability to participate as a member of the leadership team, with an active role in supporting the strategic plans and vision of the organization.
  15. Must be very responsible. Must be computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft office, windows, word and excel.
