Ambassador of Fun (Activities Coordinator)

Position Summary

The Activities Coordinator / Activities Ambassador is responsible for designing, organizing, and delivering engaging recreational programs and memorable guest experiences in a unique outdoor resort environment. This role serves as the face of fun, community, and guest engagement, creating a vibrant and inclusive atmosphere where guests of all ages build lasting memories and connections.

This position blends event planning, hospitality, entertainment, and guest services, ensuring all activities align with the resort's brand and guest expectations while maintaining the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and energy.

To create unforgettable experiences that inspire guests to return-by delivering fun, inclusive, and well-executed activities that foster community, relaxation, and adventure.

Key Responsibilities

Program Planning & Execution

  • Plan, develop, and execute a diverse calendar of daily, weekly, and seasonal activities for guests of all ages
  • Organize and facilitate activities such as:
    • Outdoor games and competitions
    • Arts & crafts and workshops
    • Fitness and wellness sessions
    • Social gatherings and themed events
    • Holiday celebrations and special events
  • Host and lead activities with enthusiasm, including speaking in front of large groups when needed

Guest Experience & Engagement

  • Serve as a welcoming host and ambassador, greeting guests and encouraging participation
  • Foster a friendly, inclusive, and energetic environment
  • Engage with guests throughout the property to promote activities and enhance their stay
  • Gather feedback and adjust programming to improve participation and satisfaction

Event Coordination & Operations

  • Coordinate logistics for events including setup, breakdown, materials, and staffing
  • Collaborate with team members and external partners to ensure smooth execution
  • Maintain and execute a monthly activity calendar
  • Adjust plans as needed due to weather or operational changes

Marketing & Promotion

  • Promote activities through:
    • Social media
    • Flyers and signage
    • Guest communication channels
  • Generate excitement and awareness around upcoming events

Operations & Administration

  • Track attendance, participation, and guest feedback
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment
  • Ensure materials are ready, organized, and well-maintained
  • Handle cash transactions and point-of-sale systems as needed

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure all activities follow established safety guidelines and resort policies
  • Monitor guest safety during activities
  • Maintain or obtain CPR/First Aid certifications

Team Leadership & Communication

  • Lead by example with professionalism and positivity
  • Maintain clear communication with team members regarding schedules and operations
  • Support teamwork and help create a motivating, energetic work environment

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required (college coursework in Hospitality, Recreation, or related field preferred)
  • 1+ year of experience in hospitality, recreation, event planning, or customer service
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Event coordination or activity programming experience preferred
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, social media, scheduling tools)
  • Ability to obtain CPR/First Aid certification

Physical & Work Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry 25–30 lbs (supplies and equipment)

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to maintain energy and professionalism in a fast-paced environment

Work Environment

  • Primarily outdoor, resort-style setting
  • Frequent interaction with families, seasonal guests, and long-term visitors
  • Fast-paced and energetic during peak seasons and special events
