SUMMARY:

As a Lead Foster Care Supervisor, you will have the opportunity to lead a team of associate supervisors and case mangers providing oversight to the well-being of children and families within the Child Welfare System. The successful candidate will also connect to these same families and play a role in the team's goals and outcomes. This role is part of the Children Permanency Partnership's (CPP) Foster Care program, which includes a consortium of agencies. The Lead Supervisor will be on-call which helps with increasing stability, safety, and well-being using trauma-informed care.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITY # 1:

Description: Oversee the operations of the Foster Care Program and other assigned programs as they are developed.

  • Must be actively involved in Continuous Quality Improvement processes and standards promoting excellent services to our clients and help maintain an excellent environment for all staff and volunteers
  • Ensure that the stated permanency rate and other outcomes are met by your team
  • Monitor and ensure that the Associate Supervisors develop and implement permanent living plans for children in state custody or with a relative under court ordered supervision, emphasizing the safety of the child
  • Monitor and ensure all Associate Supervisor duties are performed as required by the Children’s Division, and Epworth.
  • Coordinate with other Children’s Permanency Partnership (CPP) agencies as needed, and coordinate with other Epworth programs and departments
  • Ensure the process of documentation of metrics is correct and submitted on time, including monitoring of the FACES database
  • Supervise and support the Administrative Assistant in their duties.
  • Respond to any concern regarding the Epworth Foster Care Program.
  • Maintain regular communication with foster parents, biological parents, court staff and other service providers to troubleshoot concerns and coordinate services

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITY #2:

Description: Provide initial and ongoing support, direct supervision and development to Associate Supervisors.

  • Co-facilitate monthly all staff meetings as well as meetings with the Supervisory team members bi-weekly.
  • Monitor and ensure that all required recording and documentation of work with children and families, including written assessments, treatment plans, evaluations, aftercare plans and case closing summaries are complete in a timely fashion
  • Meet for formal supervision with Associate Supervisors bi-weekly (weekly for new Supervisors having worked less than one year in the position) to review cases of permanency, step downs, and correct placement, as well as compliance with the FACES monitoring spreadsheet requirements.
  • Follow all accreditation procedures and policies
  • Provide ongoing professional development and training of supervisees via individual and group supervision, and link them to other agency and community training opportunities

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Represent program at all Epworth/CPP meetings (bi-monthly supervisors meeting, various committees), Children’s Division meetings, court meetings
  • Participate in quarterly record reviews for the Children’s Permanency Partnership (CPP) and Peer Record Reviews for the Children’s Division

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree preferred. Bachelor’s degree is required. This position cannot be promoted to Director without a Master’s degree.
  • Must have 3-6 years of providing case management services.
  • One year of providing supervision/coaching in a collaborative work environment.

JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES: 

  • Ability to read and interpret documents, ability to write correspondence, ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Independent decision skills gained through knowledge from education and training. Ability to solve problems and deal with abstract and concrete variables.
  • Strong ability to lead, organize and plan
  • Computer skills of e-mail, typing, Microsoft word and State data entry systems.
  • This position requires reliable transportation with current and valid insurance as there is a requirement of transporting youth to activities, appointments, etc.
  • This position does contain requirements around availability and contact timeframes during fieldwork as well as in office work on computer and paperwork.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, walk, sit, use hands to handle of feel, reach with arms and hands, and use close and distant vision.
  • The physical requirements of this job include sitting, standing, walking and climbing stairs on a regular basis, lifting up to 25lbs, pulling and/or pushing on occasion.

Salary: $60,000
