Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW: Assist in maintaining the Mueller Sports Medicine (MSM) facilities and grounds including eight buildings, the caddy shack and over 160 acres including grounds keeping, wood working, and general maintenance.

Grounds keeping

  • Ensure the grounds are maintained including law mowing, snow shoveling, etc.
  • Repair, replace, paint, and perform general maintenance of campus fencing.
  • Safely operate manual and motorized equipment (Bobcat, snowplow, plow truck, lawn mower, tractor mower, posthole digger, etc.)
  • Mow, weed whip, spray for weeds, collect leaves, and pine needles for entire campus depending on the season.
  • Trim shrubs and trees, as needed. Safely operate manual and motorized equipment (chain saw, etc.) to complete tasks.

Maintenance

  • Assist with buildings and facilities repairs.
  • Assist with maintaining the horse barn and surrounding pastures (fix stalls, fencing, clean pastures, and unload and stack hay, etc.).
  • Daily
    • Collect garbage and recycling from Building 1 and Building 3 and place in the appropriate dumpsters.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and fixing wood related problems such as door alignments and adjustments.
  • Run errands, as needed.

Plant/Manufacturing

  • Assist in the Plant, as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  •  

Successfully pursing a high school diploma or General Equivalency degree (GED) or other related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the position functions of the job.

  •  

Must be at least 16 years of age with a valid drivers’ license and clean record.

  •  

Previous maintenance, landscaping, or other related experience.

  •  

Ability to operate a variety of maintenance, lawn care, and manufacturing equipment.

  •  

Ability to understand and comply with Mueller Safety Systems and current regulatory requirements.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills; ability to stand or sit, bend or stoop, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light weights of up to 50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate office equipment and read. The team member frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. Position requires frequent typing. Position requires regular, local business travel, including operation of a motor vehicle.
