POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Program Instructor’s responsibilities will include: team building activities, coaching, mentoring, referee, scoreboard/scorebook operator in various sports programs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Ability to instruct program participants
• Ensure equipment, playing area are safe / and in proper working order
• Report results, cancellations to the Director following the game(s)
• Attend all meetings and training as required
• Knowledge of scorekeeping, game rules and regulations and scoreboard operations.
• Ability to work in a relatively noisy environment during sporting events
• Ability to de-escalate situations with participants and/or spectators
QUALIFICATIONS:
• CPR / First Aid / AED certification required within sixty (60) days of hire
• Specific knowledge and application of game rules
• Minimum two (2) years’ experience with youth sports/adult sports
• Continued commitment to the YMCA cause
• Continued availability to the YMCA sports programs
