
Registered Nurse, Interim Care IMC, Full Time, Day
Job Description
To fulfill the needs of patients in a variety of age groups, their family members, and the community by performing varied patient care tasks and functions in accordance with licensure, certification, training, and regulatory requirements.
Education
Bachelor`s degree in Nursing required. Current/valid State of New Jersey license (or legal permission to work from the New Jersey Board of Nursing. CPR certifications.
Experience
Computer and keyboard skills. Medical terminology required.
Department Details:
14‑bed Intermediate/Critical Care unit caring for a diverse and high‑acuity patient population. Patients commonly treated include those with sepsis and septic shock, hypertensive emergencies requiring IV therapy, acute respiratory failure (invasive and non‑invasive ventilation), ARDS, and patients requiring prone therapy. The unit also manages status epilepticus, hypotension, gastrointestinal bleeding (including use of rapid infusers and massive transfusion protocols), DIC, intentional and unintentional overdoses, cardiac arrest patients (with or without targeted temperature management), and acute or chronic renal failure requiring HD, PD, or CRRT. Post‑operative patients needing enhanced monitoring are also frequently admitted.
Nurses care for patients with a wide range of invasive monitoring and access, including PA catheters, central venous catheters, arterial lines, PICC lines, bladder pressure monitoring, and are responsible for the titration of vasoactive medications.
Staffing Model
Nurse‑to‑patient ratios are acuity‑based, typically 1:3 or 1:2, with the ability to flex to 1:1 or 2:1 when clinically indicated.
All admissions to the IMC require approval by the Intensivist or designated Advanced Practice Clinician (APC).
