Job Description
CHC is a nonprofit social service agency serving the Akron community. Our mission is to treat, inspire, support, and empower individuals and families impacted by the disease of addiction. Interns become part of a compassionate, multidisciplinary team dedicated to making a measurable difference in the lives of those we serve.
We offer both paid and unpaid, year-round internship opportunities, primarily within our Counseling Department, for Bachelor’s and Master’s level students. Interns gain practical experience in areas such as:
-
Individual and group counseling support
-
Case management exposure
-
Documentation and treatment planning
-
Recovery-oriented care
-
Professional ethics and compliance standards
Beyond skill-building, our internship program is designed to foster professional growth, mentorship, and career readiness. Many of our interns transition into full-time employment with CHC after graduation — a testament to the strength of our training and leadership development.

CHC is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and Provider of Services.
